With an ambition to bring the world’s oldest sporting trophy squarely into the 21st Century, the America’s Cup Event authority set about transforming the event both on and off the water. On the water, the fastest boats and the best sailors captured the fans attention like never before. Off the water, the events “Healthy Ocean Project” leveraged the global reach of the event to inspire a greater understanding amongst fans of the health of the nation and the challenges it faces. On shore, the event was also delivered as the first major global event to go carbon neutral and zero waste.
Neill played a leading role in developing and implementing the events sustainability strategy, in building the coalition of partners required to deliver it and in securing the partners required to fund it.
